about
Our multidisciplinary lab conducts applied health services and treatment development work to directly improve psychosocial outcomes in vulnerable populations who have experienced trauma. We prioritize team science and the development and study of novel behavioral interventions to address mental health symptoms after trauma by addressing social and interpersonal functioning.

The methodological focus of our team is in behavioral intervention development, testing and implementation. Our focal outcome is interpersonal and social functioning in persons with PTSD or depression with a focus on vulnerable groups such as military veterans, vulnerable health care workers, women who have experienced sexual assault, and persons with comorbidities. We have a special interest in gender differences in the impact of trauma on interpersonal outcomes and in violence prevention. Our research has been funded by the VA, NIH, private foundations, and the DOD. Our research is typically but not exclusively applied in nature, and consistently includes treatment development and outcomes testing, qualitative methods, and has employed efficacy, effectiveness, and implementation designs.
